Taif

Taif – is held by early Arab historian to be Madinah Jahliyah ‘ignorance’, pre Islamic city. Some early writers talked of its as a “pre-flood settlement” (the flood of Noah). The Biblical Amalekites and Thamud was the most notable. However, there are no observable signs of this distant past.
